The goal of CPU stress testing tools is to assess whether a computer is fit for the job or not, and they do so by simulating actual work scenarios on standard software applications such as MS Excel, Photoshop, etc. If it’s a powerful computer and the CPU is stable, system shutdowns are prevented and the system hums along without any glitches. The software works by feeding the CPU with a high number of tasks that abruptly consume all of its resources. The CPU stress test tools, developed to test the reliability of a computer’s CPU, are being used by IT and software engineers to evaluate a system’s ability to respond in real-time. Here I’m sharing a few programs that let you monitor your graphic card, CPU, and RAM during the stress test. Jennifer is a passionate advocate for living a lifestyle of health and wellness. This was the beginning of the ASL program at CHC! Even though Sonja is a retired homeschooler, she continues to coordinate the American Sign Language classes for CHC and serves as the bookkeeper for Christ the King Church. She and Nathan began taking sign language classes locally, and before long, her son asked if she would start a homeschool class so that he could sign “with people his own age." Option for her younger son, she had the idea that learning sign language would be fun for both of them. She homeschooled her two sons, Drew and Nathan, for 20 years - from kindergarten through high school. Once her first son was born, she hung her diplomas over the rocking chair and became a full-time mom and eventual homeschooler. After graduating with a master’s degree in healthcare administration (MHA), Sonja worked for 10 years as anĪdministrator and consultant for physician practices and hospitals in the Charlotte, NC area. She graduated with a BS in Public Health and continued her education in the business school at Duke University. She attended college at UNC-Chapel Hill, where through God’s providence, she met her husband, Eddie. Her children are her hobby, as well as reading, crocheting, watching old movies, and spending time with her family and friends. She has since devoted her time to raising and homeschooling them which brings her great joy. In 2003, God blessed Julie and her husband with the first of three children. Julie was then given the opportunity to teach Art History at UNCW for a little over a year as well as teach an art history series to the docents at Cameron Art Museum. Upon retirement from the Coast Guard in 2001, God led Julie and Jeff back to Wilmington which has become their permanent home. After living in Chicago for four years, she and her husband were transferred again, this time to Houston, where she was employed by the Museum of Fine Arts to work in registration and installation. At the Art Institute she spent many hours in the museum library doing research for the textile department. After living in Wilmington for four years, Julie and her husband Jeff were transferred to Chicago where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Northern Illinois University and volunteered at the Art Institute of Chicago. Currently, Jeremy uses his passion to teach middle and high school literature/writing at Christian Homeschool Center and Providence Preparatory Academy. Though he holds a degree in art and graphic design, his stronger love for literature made teaching English a more natural choice. It was here, working with kids, that resurrected Jeremy’s lifelong desire to teach and make learning exciting. Their homeschooling journey led them to Classical Conversations where Jeremy and Kate both “tutored” on and off between moves and homeschooled their first three children. Time since has brought six wonderful children into their lives: Benjamin (2004), Caroline (2005), Selah (2007), Caleb (2013), and twins, Hazel and Hope (2019). The adventure started in 2003 when Jeremy proposed to the most beautiful woman in the world, Kate Mundrick, who inconceivably replied in the affirmative. Husband, father, Christian, and belletristic bibliomaniac, Jeremy is no stranger to the homeschool community. These developmental differences are important to understanding the behavioral and emotional risks and protective factors involved. Children understand, manage, think, feel, and talk about their experiences differently at different ages. Second, cognitive, social, and emotional characteristics are all intertwined within the architecture of the brain, and these capacities vary at different developmental stages. Therefore, it is essential to examine the quality of the children’s environmentsĪnd relationships in order to tap the risks for adversaries and the protective factors that may assist in promoting positive mental and physical health. First, emotional health for young children is very strongly influenced by their environment and the nature of their relationships and the support or risks these relationships confer. Although mental health challenges for young children share many biological and behavioral characteristics with those of older children and adults, there are several aspects which differentiate early childhood from later developmental stages. Adverse experiences early in life, particularly for vulnerable children, have been shown to predict the emergence of later physical and mental health problems (Edwards, Holden, Felitti, & Anda, 2003). Recent research indicates that early intervention can have a positive impact on the trajectory of common emotional or behavioral problems as well as outcomes for children with adversities and disorders (National Scientific Council on the Developing Child, 2012). These important experiences include children’s relationships with parents, caregivers, relatives, teachers, and peers, which play a critical role in shaping social, emotional, and cognitive development. The science of early childhood development demonstrates that the foundations for sound mental health are built early in life, as early experiences shape the architecture of the developing brain (Miller & Kinsbourne, 2012). Studies on early childhood recognize that infancy and early childhood are distinct developmental periods in which young children differ significantly from older children, adolescents, and adults in terms of cognitive skills, language and communication, self-regulation, and socioemotional functioning (Mowder, Rubinson, & Yasik, 2009). Infant, Preschool, and Early Childhood Development And finally, we conclude by identifying future research directions. Third, a summary of the studies reflecting challenges in the application of the salutogenic conceptualization to education with a focus on the experiences of children is discussed, alongside the risk factors, protective factors, and interventional implications related to current trends in the SOC studies within different contextual perspectives. Second, the adaptation of the original SOC scale to children and its characteristics is described. A comprehensive review of the literature (from 2000 to 2013) on SOC and children demonstrated a diverse range of themes: SOC within the child’s contextual environments-family, school, peers, and community, and SOC as a predictor of children’s health and health behavior.įirst, a short description of the infant, preschool, and early childhood stage is presented, focusing on the challenges of this developmental stage. In order to understand the developmental perspective of resiliency, we reviewed studies examining sense of coherence (SOC) at children’s different developmental stages, from infants and toddlers through preschool children to school-aged children (up to 12 years of age). Our goals were to present the significance of the salutogenic conceptualization to the development and education of children, exploring in depth not only children with typical development, but also children with special needs, their schools, families, and community environments. The article doesn't really explain why you might want to use client mode (other than use as a WiFi adapter for some equipment) which could lead someone to think this is necessary for AirPlay 2 targets. It might be good to add a sentence to one of the first few paragraphs of the article to explain that. In these cases, client mode would likely fix the issue as you mentioned. We are often confronted with issues and situations that tempt us to act out in ways that are the opposite of Christian character – we might want to fight back, get even, use foul language, get angry, and so on. Our life circumstances are where God builds character, but we have to cooperate with Him in the effort. Every day we make choices that will either grow our Christian character or send it into a slump. We have to be intentional about developing Christian character. “Every problem is a character-building opportunity, and the more difficult it is, the greater the potential for building spiritual muscle and moral fiber.” “We wonder why we don’t have faith the answer is, faith is confidence in the c haracter of God and if we don’t know what kind of God God is, we can’t have faith.” Aiden Wilson Tozer We try to please God without taking the time to walk with Him and develop a relationship with Him. “So often we try to develop Christian character and conduct without taking the time to develop God-centered devotion. “The true expression of Christian character is not in good-doing but in God-likeness.” Oswald Chambers Integrity is the main issue that makes the difference between a good leader and a bad one.” John MacArthur It’s not about style, status, personal charisma, clout, or worldly measurements of success. “According to Scripture, virtually everything that truly qualifies a person for leadership is directly related to character. 13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: 14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.“The test of Christian character should be that a man is a joy-bearing agent to the world.” Henry Ward Beecher 12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. 11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD and they shall be afraid of thee. 9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. 8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. The Custom House was renamed in 1990 to commemorate Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and its first Secretary of the Treasury. The United States Customs Service moved out of the building in 1974, and it remained vacant for over a decade until renovations in the late 1980s. The building opened in 1907, and the murals in the rotunda were added in 1938 during a Works Progress Administration project. Because of various disagreements, the Bowling Green Custom House was not approved until 1899 Gilbert was selected as architect following a competition.
